Talos Glacios | Cryo-TEM at 200kV
Talos Glacios is a 200 kV transmission electron microscope. This microscope is equipped with a Falcon 4 camera. This workhorse microscope is used for screening cryo-EM samples and routine single-particle cryo-EM data collection.

The Thermo Scientific Glacios Cryo-Transmission Electron Microscope (cryo-TEM) is a 200 kV microscope that allows you to easily collect near atomic data from a broad range of biological targets. Compared to the previous generation, the Glacios Cryo-TEM delivers higher throughput and makes cryo-EM more accessible.

Aquilos 2 | Cryo-FIB
The Thermo Scientific Aquilos 2 Cryo-FIB is the latest generation of our cryo-DualBeam system. It is dedicated to the preparation of thin, electron-transparent lamellas for high-resolution cryo-electron tomography or MicroED of micro-crystals.

With the Aquilos 2 Cryo-FIB, you can take a revolutionary step forward by automating steps in the workflow to produce multiple lamellas from specific programmed locations. The improved dedicated cryo-hardware will provide you with longer run times at ultra-low contamination rates. Discover how our latest cryo-FIB platform enables the determination of structures right inside the cell.

STELLARIS 5 | Cryo Confocal Light Microscope
The STELLARIS 5 Cryo is a confocal light microscope system that helps you to target your area of interest for cryo-electron tomography (CryoET). The STELLARIS 5 Cryo gives you the precision to target reliably, while still offering superior performance you can count on and improved productivity for your experiments.

The STELLARIS 5 Cryo, including cryostage and shuttle, is designed to be used in conjunction with state-of-the-art CryoET targeting software (LAS X Coral Cryo), as well as a variety of seamless integration and transfer options to cryo FIB or VCT stages.

EM ICE | High Pressure Freezer
Cryo-immobilize your aqueous samples under high pressure with a unique freezing principle and uncover secrets of the cellular process.

Capture and resolve highly dynamic processes at the nanometer scale with millisecond precision.
The EM ICE solution, combining superior high pressure freezing with the possibility of light and electrical stimulation, is the platform for your discoveries.
This is available at the Sauer Structural Biology Laboratory.
EM GP2 | Automatic Grid Plunger
The EM GP2 plunge freezes fluid or extremely thin samples spread on an electron microscopy grid into liquid ethane after removing excess fluid by automatic blotting.
Prior to freezing, the sample is maintained in a temperature and humidity controlled environmental chamber, adjustable between +4°C and +60°C and room humidity of up to 99%.
Depending on your needs, the EM GP2 automatic plunge freezer can be configured individually by using different blotting types and parameters:
